If you had your "choice"....
Which APAP machine would "YOU" pick ?
RemStar Auto w/C-Flex
Resmed S8 Vantage w/EPR
Why ?
Thanks, Tim
RemStar Auto or Resmed S8 Vantage
I have the ResMed S8 Vantage and I like it alot. It's quiet and gets the job done. It's small and easy to travel with.
Especially nice is that you can access the "clinical menu" and download your statistics every morning without having to buy additional software.
Granted all the stats it gives you are: leak rate, AHI, HI, AI, hours used etc.
It doesn't give you the detailed blow by blow analysis throughout the night--you have to buy the software to see that. But right now the stats it does give me are enough.

Both are great machines.
The Resmed does allow you to see relevant summaries without the agony of installing & getting software working (believe me that can be both infuriating and stress inducing)
The Remstar is an older model but is one of the best built xPAP machines I have seen.
Both seem to have the noise problem licked.
The Resmed is smaller.
Don't be sucked into the cflex vs epr distraction - some folk here peddle that issue more as scare tactics than intelligent reasoned feedback. Cflex is great for some & causes more problems than it solves for others. Anyone who tries to put you off the Resmed because it doesn't have cflex either has shares in respironics or may be on quota for respironics/agents & need to push more sales through the cash register (or perhaps even more accurately trying to clear excess stocks prior to roll-out of a new model)
The facts are, you can't go wrong with either.

I use the Respironics Auto and love it. The c-flex works for me.
The Resmed looks to be a more compact unit, and I believe I saw a post indicating that it is a better selling machine than the Respironics.
Either machine would probably work fine. Another option would be to wait a few weeks (or maybe days? I am not sure) for the Respironics M series (to get the compact size), although it may not have the good data capabilities right off the bat.
