I have been on CPAP for 6 years now. My original pressure setting was 9 and although I've had several sleep studies over the years, the pressure setting hasn't changed- until recently.
I recently replaced my machine to a S9 Elite (which I Love!) and at that time had a sleep study done. The sleep technician changed my setting at that time to 11. I didn't question it because I was scheduled for a follow up appointment in 2 weeks. I did find the pressure a little too high because I felt bloated every morning or sometimes I would wake up during the night feeling bloated. When I had the follow up appointment, the dr asked was I aware of any reason why the sleep tech changed my settings because he said the data didn't support changing it. I told him about the bloating and so he changed it back to 9.
Now I'm finding that I'm snoring again so I changed the setting to 9.5. Tried that for a week and my husband says I'm still snoring a little. So, Im inclined to changed it again, up to say 10. But before I do that, I'd like to check with the experts here on their experience with changing the settings on their machine.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Question on changing my pressure settings
Re: Question on changing my pressure settings
May have to decide which is the greater evil...a little snoring or aerophagia.
Sometimes a little snoring isn't all that big of a deal compared to the alternative. Sometimes we snore very briefly and the rest of the night minimal to none snoring.
Did you know that there is software available so you can see the the snores are just little minor snores or snores associated with full grown apnea events of some sort?
The S9 Elite you can use SleepyHead or ResScan.
Check out the links in my signature for additional information.

Re: Question on changing my pressure settings
I would highly recommend downloading either ResScan 4.2 or Sleepyhead. There's tons of info on this site on how to use both. They are both very easy to learn.
To answer your question I have no issues with changing my pressure with the data to see what's happening. I did it in small steps and checked the data to see if it's better or worse. I finally got the best results with 12 min, 14 max and EPR 2. I have an S9 Autoset.
The bloating you are feeling could be areophagia. (not sure of spelling). Lot's of info on here about that as well. Oh and fill out your equipment profile and the others can help you further.
