Aeiomed Headrest is dead

Post by dtsm » Wed May 01, 2013 10:52 am

It's official, my DME just advised they can't supply me with this anymore, even though one can find them on-line. Fortunately I've been hoarding them the past 20+ months and have enough for a few years.

I suspect that once any online sources have sold their remaining stock then the HeadRest will be no more.
I know of one online source for the whole mask and that is probably only because of old stock but I have seen supplies of the replacement parts (cpap.com still has the nasal pillows).
Replacement parts will also go bye bye once those are sold off and the shelves are empty.

Fans of this mask need to raise their voices in support.
Maybe another company will produce it under another name.

Same here. I've stashed enough of them to last well past my expiration date. I should will whatever's remaining to you, dtsm.

Now if they stopped making pantyhose tights, I would be out of luck!

I CANNOT believe there is nothing else except the breeze that doesn't touch your cheeks. I like the Breeze but it tends to break just enough so it doesn't fit quite right in a few months. What is a side sleeper to do?

Have you looked at the TapPap mask. It does not touch your cheeks or the top of your head.

Been trying the TapPap for a little while now and the fit works well, but I've been getting morning headaches since then. I'm not _positive_ about the correlation though (i.e. whether the headaches came with the TapPap or moving from CPAP to BiPAP).

I've tried to loosen the fit on the TapPap mouthpiece once and am about to try again, but...

Anyone have any suggestions for headache remedy ideas, specifically with the TapPap mask?

Or...anyone have any suggestions for masks like the TapPap or HeadRest that do NOT have straps that apply pressure to the bottom of the nose? It seems that all of the masks I've tried with straps to tighten across the bottom of the nose are either too tight and hurt by morning or are loose enough that the nasal pillows leak when I move around at night. I sleep on my stomach or side and seem to toss & turn a fair amount sometimes.

Are you checking your data with e.g. SleepyHead (free to DL through the 1st 'Announcement' on main page, with instructions)? Your therapy might not be adequate any more, or less so with the Tap Cap, etc... so you need to be sure it's still good.

"Catnapper" posted some time back about having some Headrest masks stashed away that she was willing to part with.
Don't know if she's still got any left, but if anybody's interested, you might try contacting her.
