I don't use SleepyHead, but from what I've read, it will work fine under Windows 8.

When installing, after you download the program, don't double-click the installation icon. Instead, right-click
it, and select "Run as Administrator" from the drop-down list. This will make things easier.

Thanks for the replays. I know sleephead runs on 8, but I didn't think the installer would work. How do you get the program on windows 8?

I just downloaded it and installed it on two Win8 machines. Nothing was different to before.

I had to run the installation as administrator. I also have to run sleepyhead as administrator in order for it to successfully do an update. I only run as admin when it wants to update. Otherwise it goes through the motions, but is unsuccessful.

In Windows 8 install it like you would in Windows 7 but install it with "run as administrator" privileges from the beginning and updates go through easier and smoother.

Just download it..go to where ever you downloaded it...unzip...right click mouse on the unzipped setup files...choose "run as administrator" from the little box that pops up with the right click on the mouse. Let it do its thing.

EncoreBasic...now it has a problem with the installer in Windows 8 but not SleepyHead.
Even for EncoreBasic though there is a work around.

SleepyHead doesn't have a problem with the installer I don't think. At least no one has every mentioned it. They all say..."I have Windows 8 and SH installed just fine and works just fine".

See if this helps. You need to be able to use MyComputer to navigate to the drive letter where the SD card sits.
If you get to the drives available and SD card is in the slot it should let you see which letter.

There are some videos also...all I did was google
Windows 8 and MyComputer.

Thank you all for your help. I had to take the computer back and get another one. The SD Drive was not working. Anyway, I installed Sleephead and it's working just fine. Getting tired of setting up computers. This is the third one now but I think I have one that works, I hope
