Newbie needs help!

Post by ARod » Tue Apr 30, 2013 5:48 pm

I've been using a Respironics System One for three months, and slowly getting the hang of it.
I still (unconsciously) take off my mask nearly every night, but I'm wearing it longer.

I'm looking for some kind of data viewer so I can find out where I'm struggling, but I can find a link to Encore Basic anywhere, and can't get Sleepyhead to pull the data from my SD card.

Suggestions?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please fill out the equipment profile. It would help to know exactly which model of machine you have. To see data, you need a model number of "450" or higher.......like a "Pro" or "Auto". If it says "Plus", it only gives hours used and no meaningful data.

Can you tell us the model number on the bottom of the blower unit? It will be a 3 digit number.
Also what version of SleepyHead are you trying to use?

Thanks for the replies!

Sorry I wasn't more specific before.
I have a REMstar Auto A-Flex System One.
The number on the bottom is 560P.

I installed the latest version of Sleepyhead, 0.9.1-beta-win32.

Here's your problem(s) with SleepyHead.

1. You have a 60 series machine ..it's a 560 full data machine but SH basic won't work with it.
2. Your SleepyHead version is not updated
3. You don't have the 60 series patch.

How to fix. I bet you have Windows Vista or newer??? If so...
Go find the SleepyHead icon and instead of double clicking on it to open...do a right click of the mouse and choose "run as administrator" and let SleepyHead open.
This should allow SleepyHead to automatically update to version 0.9.2-1. If you didn't have a 60 series machine you could stop there but you don't so you have to go do the Patch file thing. See this thread 1st post for Patch file and pages 3 and 4 for steps with pictures.
viewtopic/t83551/SleepyHead-Series-60-Patch-Avail.html

Do the steps outlined in that thread to replace the old application exe file with the new application exe file.
You may need to reboot the computer..you may not...you also may need to open SleepyHead again with administrator privileges to get the last update that should make the final Sleepyhead version 0.9.3...once you have that version you should be able to import the data.

Whoa, that totally worked!
I've been dying to see this data for months.
Thanks a ton!

You are most welcome. Glad I could help.

The bill is in the mail.
I really need to make a cheat sheet for those steps so I don't have to type them every time...

I am trying to work on polishing up the SleepyHead tutorial but I keep running out of time and can't get it done....
I think I will start the tutorial with cheat sheets on how to install....The User Guide at source forge has all the steps but not concise and people get glassy eyed looking at it anyway.

Or just create a word document on your computer that has all the stuff you need.....and then just cut & paste the stuff you find that you post on a daily basis.

I actually have a saved document for my commonly used links and stuff I send via PM and a really nice cheat sheet for the old Encore Pro that I don't use anymore so it really isn't needed. I don't offer support for Pro any more.
I just need to get things organized..and that is not high on my list of things to do. Big surprise there.
It's more fun to type the same stuff over and over again so that I can kick myself in the butt for not saving it.

I have saved this one though. So maybe next time I won't have to type it all over again.
Of course if I do that then Murphy's law means no one will need it for a week.
