Whats Next?

Post by Imasnorin » Fri Apr 26, 2013 3:27 pm

Ok, my 30 days is up Sunday and my machine has been in auto trial. What can I expect Monday when I go nighty, night?

Please tell me that there will be no aliens, I'm still kinda sore from earlier this week.

Your machine will become a straight one-pressure CPAP. It is supposed to select the pressure best for your from
the trial period data.

However, there is a trick to keep your machine in Auto mode. Someone who knows the trick should be by
shortly.

You have the 460 model? or the other older Auto IQ?

We used to suggest a little trick using the reset therapy hours to zero to get additional 30 days (don't do it while DME and insurance may be watching) but lately I have had a couple of people where it didn't work.
One person said that they had paperwork with their 460 that said this little trick can only be done a maximum of 5 times.
I have never seen any paperwork to the 460...so I don't know for sure.
Same thing with the Auto IQ...but it was a used machine (not known till we got the software) with a lot of hours on it.
We got the therapy hours reset to zero but he still had a big 0 where it says "days of auto trial available".
So I am wondering if someone has implemented some sort of blocking agent to stop us from doing 30 day resets forever.

All I can offer is something to try that may or may not work now or for some sort of limited number of resets.

All that is done is go into Clinical Menu setup of the "Info" section on the LCD screen and find the "reset data" feature.
It will erase all your therapy data though...so not something to do if DME is checking compliance. It won't reset hours of use for the blower though. This is what is normally done when a used machine is given to a new patient so that the prior patient's data doesn't get mixed in with new patient data.

As to what will happen with the switch to CPAP pressure and how it will feel...shouldn't be a big deal unless the cpap pressure that is "chosen" as the best pressure is hugely different from what you started the night out in APAP mode.
