batteries size & charging for remote S9 use

I am really struggling to clarify what batteries size & charging for remote S9 use
1. Can any one answer the time required to recharge a lithium battery for a S9 Auto set 9 (pressures 6-16mmHg) via a car battery and cigarette lighter charger. and how many nights if dont use humidifier? OR
2. We have established it would be ideal to use humidifier and have Absorbed Glass Matt battery for 100amp hours but cant figure out how to work out how many nights I could get and how to recharge it via the toyota 4WD we are borrowing. It has capacity for Dual batteries but only one installed. I would need to hire any heavy set up as flying 4,000 km to Darwin first so can't test it before hand.

The lithium battery question would depend on which particular lithium battery you have.

My experience two summers ago charging a deep cycle battery from my pickup was not encouraging. It seems a deep cycle battery by design resists high charge currents, contrary to a car battery. I recharged the 125 ah deep cycle from about 2/3 charge back to about 90% charge with the pickup, but it took about two hours of engine running to do it. I had all the alternator current going to the deep cycle and the pickup battery disconnected.

Although it's not an ideal battery for CPAP use, if you plan to use the 4WD to recharge a battery I'd suggest you get another auto battery and recharge it every day. It would probably recharge fully in 1/2 to 1 hour of engine running. By recharging it every day you'll avoid deep discharges which are a killer for auto batteries.

For the S9 with humidifier figure on about 25 to 35 amp hours of energy use per night. That's about 3+ nights on a 125 ah deep cycle.

I'd suggest at least thinking about getting an inverter and running a battery charger off that. That's how I charge my Li-ion battery pack when we're driving, the Li-ion battery pack comes with a charger that plugs into wall AC power. You could charge a deep-cycle marine battery that way, as well. On the other hand, if you're thinking of just running the truck in neutral/idle to do the charging, not sure how good that is for the engine? I really mean that I'm not sure *smile*, but should be able to do some research to find out.

Also, consider running the humidifier in unpowered, pass over mode. If you just connect your humidifier and don't power it up, then the air will blow over the surface of the water and pick up some humidity that way. So you save the humidifier power, which it turns out, is pretty intensive. That worked for me for our tent camping, may or may not work for you. Also used the regular slimline tuning with a ResMed cloth cover on it to prevent condensation...depends on where you going as to whether you need the cloth cover.
