Activa & pressure

Post by Selena (but really Julie) » Fri Apr 28, 2006 3:53 pm

Hi, I said last wk that I loved my new Activa, but have gone back to wearing my UM nasal because the Activa didn't seem as effective (tho' I don't think it leaks). Is it possible that it's necessary to raise your pressure for it to be more effective - it feels like it's almost too large, though it's a small. I know I asked about the mask not seeming to inflate very well before, but this Q's a bit different (re raising pressure). Thanks.

UM Nasal

What is a UM Nasal? I have tried 3 masks without success. I haven't slept through the night since last fall when I found out I have moderate apnea. I didn't worry about it before that! The bar on the Mirage Swift really bothers me when I try to sleep on either side; it's also noiser than the two masks I have, but they feel like the foreign object on my face and I can't sleep!!

I'm guessing she means Ultra Mirage. See link in my sig/profile. I'm a side sleeper (alternate sides during the night). I've had very good luck with the comfort and performance of this mask.
