  • Pure DC operation
  • better algorithms
  • Exhale relief standard on all but the "Brick" models.
  • No more proprietary data cards (now if we could just stop them from making "Bricks" with SD cards that only track compliance)
  • Improved humidifier tank designs
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

In trying to purchase another ResMed attachment one of their Representatives and I sort of crossed swords so to speak.

I just received a S9 AutoSet that was made in Hong Kong, but the representative at ResMed said all of their products were made in Australia.

When I told the representative that my S9 and the ResMed H5i Humidifier, also had made in Hong Kong on it he told me that I must be mistaken, and that I should contact my DME to clear this up... Well, now Really.

All ResMed Products may very well be made in Australia, but if they are they have a funny way of spelling Australia on the back of my ResMed S9 equipment ?

The only ResMed Product that I have at this time that is Made in Australia is ResMed's ClimateLine Tubing, which was a ResMed Product that I didn't discuss with their representative.

Not wanting to add any fuel to this fire, I also decided not to discuss ResMed's Power Adapter with this Representative although it was not made in Hong Kong, and/or Australia, but it clearly reads Made in "China". I guess I need to contact my DME to clear that up also??

We never did discuss the reason that I had initially call them about, maybe next time.

Useless or flawed poll. If you don't have and use all model and brands of machines, and have the knowledge to no how they work, you won't know what you are talking about, all you end up with is a feel good debate. We don't all need the same treatment.

I side with the Remstar Classic series, I have 3, and am still waiting for one to stop giving me good treatment! (Classic Tank) two are over 10, 000 blower hours. Jim

I also really like the Tank. For all you with the newest and best, I will be glad to take any Pro2's you still have off your hands. I even have a couple of "M"'s I would trade.

Hey, Sheriff, haven't you heard the new models won't have to use a mask, just like wireless!!

If that new model could be housed in the closet, draw no electric power, still work underwater ( no worry spilling HH) and keep airway open wirelessly using no mask and come with a laser printer that had a lifetime supply feature that would wirelessly print full dataand earphones that would Splain the data to you in English.

If all this was met 70 % of the users would be happy, 30% wouls still be looking for something easier. Jim

my backup resmed cflex is a beast, better built, superior to the 650 by far.

No data capability but good exhalation relief.

Id say the old machine was a lincoln, and the new one a cavalier.

I didn't vote, but feel the poll is sort of meaningless. It's not like you could go into a DME shop now and request a brand new, never used machine from 5, 6, 7 or 8 years ago. They can still be found......some still "never used" or "lightly used".......as they probably spent those years in closets and the owners passed away because they thought it was "beneath their dignity" or "I'm macho and I ain't usin' no damned machine to sleep".

Anyway, from my readings over the last eight years, each generation (and models) from each manufacturer have had their advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes they improve things and sometimes the improvements are just "window dressing".

I made a decision years ago to stick with what I started with (Respironics Legacy models - aka "tanks") and I'm not sorry. I don't have to keep upgrading my software, computer operating systems, etc. All of my equipment parts are interchangeable. Plus, now they're pretty cheap compared to new prices then or now. AND, they've worked well for the ("garden variety" OSA) therapy I need. I don't need newer, bigger (or smaller), better, faster.......just some air to keep me breathing well at night and data-capabilities to tell me that it's still working.

I am concerned that future models may have features so many of us enjoy and use today
locked out for "our protection" but really to preserve professional and market power
for the money players.

Yes, the "industry" would love to see that.

But, IMHO, since all technology is moving so fast & being adopted just as fast as it evolves, they would be tarred & feathered if they even tried that.

Doing that would be like saying let's make the wheel square so that it won't be as useful to the end user.

Resmed has never had Cflex, The equipment you show in ICONNY doesn't work together. Jim

Amen to that. We seem to get new presidents faster than new cpap models.
