Finally solved my problem and new ones arise

Well I was on here a few weeks back whining I couldn't get sleeping as I was gasping for air all night and you all kindly gave me some suggestions to try, which I did. Turns out the "going up a nasal pillow size" worked wonders!! OMG...it felt amazing...felt like for the first time I was getting lovely fresh air to breath at night and I wasn't having to struggle to breath, fell straight asleep and STAYED asleep for the first time in 7 months!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! Have done this for a solid week now,BUT( and yes there is a big BUT coming)..noticed my AHI has gone from 1.2 to 4.0 and my leak is gone from 9L to 13L and for the first time I had a central of 1.5 ( UGH). I know the figures have gotten worse but but but..... this is the first time I have slept great in ages!! What to do...I cant go back to that smaller size nasal pillow...no way. Do you think I will be ok with these new higher numbers? Oh forgot to mention...my pressure is set from 4 to 10 ( autoset) and it didnt max out..it still went to 8.8 where it usually goes if that helps.

Don't change the pillows. Post charts to show when the new apneas are happening. With you sleeping well now and more you are probably sleeping deeper and getting REM that you never did before. And you feel great - that is by far the most important thing. A 4 is not a bad thing when you are feeling great.

That AHI is far from horrible. If it is just 1 or 2 nights I wouldn't bother worrying but if you are concerned or seeing it consistently and it bugs you knowing and you just want it lower.... Remember the central part of the AHI is ignored when evaluating pressure needs.
Couple things might help it though....maybe change the minimum pressure to 5 or 6.
Also...maybe getting close to time for replacement nasal pillows. They do get tired. Some people get months of use out of them before they get too tired and others barely manage 2 weeks. Don't know why unless it is related to individual skin oils and/or cleaning regiment.
Most insurance will allow 2 nasal pillow replacements a month..
If yours doesn't sometimes you can find good deals on EBay or you can order online from cpap.com.

Thank you Pugsy and Blackspinner...will def get new nasal pillows today and yes I am so feeling much better I cant tell you. These past seven months have been hell and miserable. This last week has been wonderful sleeping through the night. I noticed too for the first time in a long while no morning headaches which is awesome. Im not as snappy with the kids either. You would not believe what the difference a good night sleep makes ( well Im sure you all know). I actually did toy with the idea of setting my minimum setting to 6 tonight so Im going to do that. Who would have thought it was something as simple as a bigger set of nasal pillows!! My hubby said he actually was listening to me this morning to see if I was ok and breathing as I was so sound asleep..hehe As long as these numbers are ok and Im feeling good then Im going to run with it. I cant thank you guys enough on here, I dont know what I would do with out you all, the support I have had on here from day one has been unbelieveable (hugssssss to you all) Daisy x
