cold & coughing

I am a newbie - 7 days on CPap - I have a cold and sore throat and last nigh was coughing a lot. Is it normal to get a sore throat when you are new to this? My AHI has been running in the 1.5 range but last night was 2.9. I don't recall waking up a lot but think I was coughing a lot.

What does your leak rate look like?
What is humidity setting on your machine?
Cold symptoms as in nasal congestion, drainage and cough (like allergy symptoms) only or also accompanied by fever, headache, general crappy cold symptoms?

Your AHI probably increased because when you cough you lose some therapy out of your mouth. It may show up in leaks.
