Softer hose?
Softer hose?
I'm an RT. I've been in DME for a couple of years off and on, and I've noticed the most common tubing that I come across seems to have degraded in quality over the past couple of years. Only a handful of customers have mentioned it, but that's enough that it bothers me and I want to provide the best quality for my folks. Anybody have any suggestions to getting tubing that is flexible like the older stuff was? I see there are TONS of types made that I've not seen, so just fire away with experiences if you don't care. Thanks in advance. My customers will greatly appreciate it I'm sure.

This one has been around for a while and is superior to the gray standard hose.
Respronics Pure White Performance hose.
I see that Respironics no longer allows posting of the "real" price at cpap.com but you can find them on EBay for about $10 for name brand. Free shipping.
I like it a lot better than the standard gray hose. Lightweight and flexible.

I bought one for my Devilbiss--the OEM is way noisy!

"My" experience has been that DMEs are buying more & more "generic" items (hoses included). And although "generic" is supposed to mean equal in quality, I find that they are not. Filters are another good example.AdamRRT wrote:I'm an RT. Unless I can get any item I purchase (hose, filters, etc) in a "sealed" bag with the manufacturer's name on it, I just don't buy it. Yes, that is NOT a foolproof method - but it seems to work for me.

Tell them to get a hose hanger type system?
These hose quick connects are a must for those cheap hoses. The rubber ends of the cheapie hoses are hard and difficult to remove your mask from.
