I have had my cpap for a week now. I finally got the results from my sleep study which I have been bugging them for. AHI was 85.5. I don't feel so bad about my numbers being in the teens since I got my machine. I know they need to be lower but got the right size mask today so I am hoping that makes a difference.

Re: Sleep study results
Great attitude. You'll do we'll. work on the leaks and the AHI will drop.

I'd rather have teens than 85.5, so you are making progress. Think of treatment as a journey rather than a destination. You have gotten through some of the rough spots, and now it looks like all you might need is a little more fine tuning. If the new mask doesn't help after a week or so, then it might be time to start looking at data.

Re: Sleep study results
After getting the correct size mask, last night went great. At my sleep study they had used a large mask. Being a big guy (6'3" 240 lb.) I guess they assumed I would need a large. No one ever used the sizing gauge to determine the right size. Monday I went by cpap.com to get one of those gel pads for my nose and thats when I found out that I needed a medium size.
I had tried my machine in the trial auto setting but for some reason I was not getting any data on my card. I reset it to regular cpap mode and upped the pressure from 13 to 14. Checked my numbers this morning and my AHI was 4.5. I'm going to leave it at this setting for a week and see how it goes but I'm very encouraged by this.

Unsure about that trial auto setting and no data...that is odd.cctex wrote:I had tried my machine in the trial auto setting but for some reason I was not getting any data on my card. But AHI of 4.5 with the increase in cpap pressure is certainly very nice. Let's see what happens after a week.
