If I download data will it affect PCP from also reading it ?

Post by Cavmdc » Tue Mar 19, 2013 7:42 pm

So, I'm still new.

If i download my card to read it, I assume tat wont affect the data on the card from being read again my my PCP and DME. ( PCP reads data, DME reads use age for compliance)

The machine is a ResMed S9 Elite.

Thanks

Greg

Compliance is stored on the machine... so that would be written to the card if it had gotten erased.

You can download your data to your hearts content without fear that your DME can read it also.. unless you happen to corrupt the card.. To be save, I would select the option for safely remove the sd card before you pull it, to make sure your machine dismounts it.

I don't know much about macs, but from what I have heard, you would want to switch the card to lock so your mac can't write to it, as it puts a file on the card that the s9 machines do not like. Probably not a bad idea to lock the card on a windows machine.. just to be safe... though I personally don't do this.

Btw, not sure wich software you want to use.. if on windows I would get sleephead and ressscan, try them both and see which one you like.

I will edit with the links in a moment.

Use the little switch thing on the SD card before you put it in the computer and the CPAP machine can't know that it was put in to a computer. Just swtich it back before putting it back in the CPAP machine and don't forget.

The S9 keeps most data and will rewrite it on a memory card even if you put a new blank one in it.

I've heard about mac's files confusing the S9 but I haven't seen it yet. If anyone has a card where that happens, I would love to get a copy of the corrupted card to analyse it.
