Titration Test Completed and Setup with Equipment

Post by ~Q~ » Tue Mar 19, 2013 12:01 pm

Well, completed my titration test last night and as others indicated, it wasn't too bad. I slept 4-5 hours and tolerated the CPAP generally well. It woke me up a few times, but overall it wasn't too bad. The final pressures the Dr prescribed me are 8/12, so not too high.

The Dr I am seeing also offers DME if your insurance allows and he's pretty serious about making sure you have the proper equipment. The lowest end system he will set people up with is an APAP with full data capabilities (which is what I got). He stated he likes being able to check up on patient progress by getting detailed data from the machine. My machine is a Respironics 60 Series Auto CPAP. I went with a nasal pillow as this was what I ended up finding most comfortable during the titration test.

So, I guess now the journey begins!

You got a great machine. Full data and a doc that actually wants to look at the data...you hit a home run.

You can look at the data that the machine gathers if you want to. Software is easily available.
Up to you if you want to look but it hurts nothing to look. Doesn't harm the data on the SD card at all.

You can use SleepyHead but you will need the Patch file..see this thread. I have links to the main SleepyHead download site in my signature line. Be sure to read the User Guide too.

If you have a Mac...SleepyHead is the only software with a Mac version.

You can also use Respironics Encore software if you want to. Windows only software.
Look in Uncle Bob's signature line for more information on how to get the Encore software.

Be sure to read the Help section because it tells you how to use the software.

EncoreGuide link this will show you examples of what you will see. For a different machine than yours but the basics are the same.

Q: good choice on the mask. It's the least intrusive. Welcome to the world of the hoseheads. Work all your issues here. There's seems to be some fighting going on lately, but ignore those people. There are some wonderful people here that will help you in your journey.

Good luck with your therapy. I wish most people had that pleasant and productive an experience with their sleep doctors

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I was lucky if I slept 3 hours during my titration test.... I woke up everytime they changed my pressure or when the mask leaked....

you are doing great so far!!
