DRY MOUTH with new pillow system

Post by jdk1700 » Mon Mar 18, 2013 5:43 am

I switch my mask from Swift nasal pillow system to Swift FX nasal pillow system using RES Med S9 machine. It reduced my leakage from 60 lm to 10 lm which is an acceptable leakage, but my mouth has been very dry during the night waking me up to drink water. My humidifier is H5i and (unlike with the original Swift nasal pillows when it was empty in the morning) it still has a good deal of water left in the morning. It appears I have traded low leakage for dry mouth. Any suggestions?

You are mouth breathing. That is bad because it means the therapy pressure is going out of your mouth instead of keeping your throat open.
Try a chin strap, tape or get a full face mask.

I have the same problem with the exact same mask. I am in the process of locating a full face mask to resolve this problem. You may want to do the same. Good luck.
