Hi. I often wake up in the middle of the night and need to have a drink of water (I keep a Turvis Tumbler by my bed with a straw). My question is, if it registers as a leak if you mouth breathe, then will it register as a leak or even a Clear Airway event if you drink? It is kind of hard to breathe when I do this with pillows on my nose. I know that I am not breathing when I am taking that long sip. I already don't feel like I can talk with the pillows on. There is this weird feeling when I open my mouth at all.
I am having trouble knowing what leaks are acceptable. I am sure it shows as a big leak when I pull the pillows away from my face and readjust them. Sometimes they come ajar if I roll over in bed to my other side.

Re: Drinking water and Leaks
I really wouldn't be worrying about this.
A little bit of leak isn't really a problem anyway. If the leaks bothering you and gettting into your eyes (or bothering your partner); or you're breathing through your mouth and your OSA isn't controlled, then you'd tackle it
And yes that's completely normal with pillows. With any nasal mask. It's very difficult to talk (so you learn to keep your mouth closed pretty quickly :p).
Just turn your machine off for 30 seconds or so while you drink the water then turn it back on. It's going to feel really uncomfortable drinking water with the pressure on!

Oh, and has the need to drink water during the night always been there? If it's because you feel your mouth is dry, you might need to be adjusting your humidifier setting, which will help with dryness.
