Is there a CPAP Device with and On-Board Oximeter

Post by First Reviewer » Sun Mar 10, 2013 7:56 pm

I was thinking. I'm wearing an Oximeter and downloading my daily, or in this case my nightly sleep period data, along with my oximeter data.

What would be wrong with Respironic's, ResMed, and other CPAP Companies to include or attach an oximeter with their Devices?

I would also like to use a wireless, or hard wired modem with their CPAP Devices in gathering the oximeter data.

While I on the subject of Modem's does anyone now use a modem to download their CPAP Data. It seems to me that using a S D Card is sort of yesterday's way of doing business.

I know that Respironic has a Modem and I would like to purchase one, but as yet I've had no luck. I would even settle for a wired modem as to a wireless one.

While I'm on this Data/Modem Technology Rant, here's another thing that I would like to see developed.

"Interpreting CPAP Data Software".

I see nothing wrong with CPAP users having Software that can give them a daily summary of their own Daily CPAP Data results. At this point I am able to see all the Charts, but not being schooled in this field, I might miss something important. Just think if I had Mr. Microsoft looking over my shoulder with his all knowing digital vision then I couldn't miss anything important.

Anyway I've been on CPAP for 2 months now, and I am very thankful for all that it has done for me. Where I couldn't stay awake during the day with any energy whatsoever just a few weeks ago I am now able to not only stay awake, but also do everything my wife wants me to do. Thanks CPAP!

Folks with that being said I have to give Miss Pugsy's a Tip of My Hat, for assisting me when I felt that I really needed some help, and also I must thank a lot of other CPAP users for their timely CPAP Tips.

I know that I'm just starting out, and that I have a long way to go with my therapy, and also a lot to learn, if I can, but believe me when I tell you that things for so much better Now.

Have a Great Day !

devilbiss has an attachable oximeter for their intellipap machine.

copy/pasta from devilbiss site:
Nonin® Xpod® Oximeter
The Nonin Xpod Pulse Oximeter is a powerful, clinical option for superior patient therapy management. It can be paired with the SmartLink Therapy Management System to provide up to nine nights* of patient oximetry data.
While SmartLink monitors and records up to 72 hours of continuous SpO2 and pulse data from the Xpod Oximeter, the IntelliPAP Standard, Standard Plus, AutoAdjust, or Bilevel model displays the information, which can also be downloaded to SmartLink PC software and viewed in report format.

Included with the Nonin Xpod Pulse Oximeter accessory package is the Nonin soft sensor finger probe that comfortably and securely fits on to a user’s finger; it stays in place for overnight use. SmartLink records only when the oximeter receives a strong signal – no more interference from ambient light.

SpO2: range 0%-100%; accuracy +/- 1% at range 70%-100%
Pulse Rate: range 18-300 bpm: accuracy +/- 3 bpm
Sample Rate: 0.25 Hz (SpO2 and pulse rate)
PureSAT® technology provides exceptionally accurate pulse oximetry
A full range of sensors can be used with the Xpod – reuseable, flex and soft sensor oximeter
The Xpod Oximeter delivers superior performance and can be used in motion and low perfusion
The Xpod Oximeter uses a low power draw – only 60 mW

Also, ResMed has an add-on for all their xPAP devices. Quite Pricey. I think $2,000. Also requirements physician Rx.

I hear the Nonin oximeters are not inexpensive.
