Eureka I have found the right combination

Post by orangegrower » Wed Mar 06, 2013 6:34 pm

I started CPAP treatment about 5 weeks ago. I have been OK with my numbers (PB % around 3 with AHI between 4 and 5 per hour) but I have been tweaking to do better. If I am going to go through this process I want to optimize my numbers. I have been switching between a Swift FX nasal pillow mask and a PR Easy Life nasal mask but really wanting the nasal pillow to work. It is so much more comfortable to me. Two nights ago I installed the cloth strap covers on my Swift FX and my numbers are now amazing. AHI at 1.46 and .83 last night. PB % was also down to .36 last night. I love it when a plan comes together.

Congratulations.

Are the cloth covers for the Swift FX.... the barrel cozy from Padacheek?

Orangegrower,

Excellent, I hope your plan continues to provide good treatment and increased restfulness! Thanks for posting about your success as you never know, it just might help someone else with a similar issue.

No they came with the Swift FX. I thought what difference could they make. My thoughts were the silicon straps would stick to my face keeping the mask in place. Boy was I wrong.

Ahh, the side strap covers. You were trying to wear the mask without the covers? Ouch.....along with some serious strap marks in the mornings I bet.
I like even more padding than those side covers supplied by ResMed offer...so I used the Padacheek side strap covers...heavier fleece so more padding.
