Afraid oral appliance will make me look like a beaver

Like that Bucky Larsen character from that movie. Im worried that if I use an oral appliance, I will get buck teeth.

Unlikely. But bruxism is much more likely. Leave your teeth in their natural state and environment during sleep...

Eric
If the appliance has been fit properly it should not cause the teeth to move. I have been using one to prevent "Bruxing" (grinding my teeth while sleeping) for years and I have had zero problems. I have ground down 3 of them however (ymmv)

Cheers,

Dave

You shouldn't worry.

Buck teeth on a beaver do not look all that different from buck teeth on a jackass.

Your broad tail already makes you look like a beaver. Everyone in the chatroom has been talking about it.

Well, you guys are probably right Im just worrying too much on the oral appliance thing. I have worn it three hours a day during the daytime and after I take it out man my upper teeth feel like they have been worked over a little. It mentions I should experience some minor discomfort to the gums and such in the instructions. Im just honestly worried about it changing my bite if I use it much. I dont want to look like Bucky Larsen the porn star.

That would be different.

Nope, have really straight teeth and started thinking about it and want to make sure they stay straight.

If you are talking about a night guard for the apnea, I tried one and had to stop it. The object is to push your bottom jaw forward, and they do that well, even though they don't always help the apnea. Actually, I think they do it too well - I found after a couple of weeks, my jaw wouldn't return to its normal position and was tight - didn't want that, so threw it in the trash.
