Search here for " aussie heated hose "

I just got my first ever does of rainout last night after bragging for all this time that I never get rainout. WOW! What a snoot full!

If you are using the Headrest and if you ever like sleeping in a really cool to even chilly room go for extra insulation as well.

I have the Aussie hose, HH set at 1 and opened my windows one night while using the Headrest and got a snootful. It's a wonderful interface except for it's insistence on rainout. Next step is a one or more layers of insulation.

I put my CPAP and humidifier on the floor so any rainout stays in the hose on the floor. If and when the gurgles get loud enough to wake me up, I lift the hose enough to drain the condensation back into the humidifier tank and go back to sleep.
An insulation sock around the hose should be enough to eliminate condensation, but a heated hose sounds cool!

The heated hose and several layers of insulation "helps" to eliminate rainout with the Aura. The Aura seems to be the worst nasal pillow interface for rainout, but well worth the extra hassle, IMO.

gkainz. If you are getting by with just the equipment on the floor, and not getting rainout, I'm will to bet you don't have the Aura. I didn't ever have rainout (with the Nasalaire) until I switched.

I too will bet you don't have a Headrest/Aura. I think all you have to do is blow across the Headrest small tube to get rainout. It is really pretty amazing. Like I said, it's a great interface except for the rainout. Worth making the effort to insulate, etc. I hope Aeiomed fixes it in the next go around though.

This is my set up to eliminate rainout with the Aura--Aussie heated hose + humidifier in passover mode (no heat) + a tiny dab of lubricating gel in each nostril. This way I don't have problems with dryness or rainout. Even having the humidifier on 1 caused rainout for me--not fun.

Hope you find a combination that works for you!
