some comments please? - on cpap 44 days
Seeking some comments please - I think I am responding well to cpap??

Re: some comments please? - on cpap 44 days
Well I agree. On paper it looks like you are doing very well and since you didn't say "my numbers are good and I still feel like crap" I assume you are noticing some improvement.
Sleeping decently? Having any problems with mask or anything? Feeling decent during the day when compared to before cpap?
Your leak numbers are quite excellent. Remember your machine is reporting total leak (vent rate plus excess leak) so don't go into a panic if you try to compare your leak numbers with a ResMed user because their machines report only excess leak.

Thanks pugsy. I feel more motivated, and brighter in mood. I feel less anxious when I wake up - I didn't think I was anxious BEFORE, but compared.... I feel sort of peaceful now. Nice
No trouble with the machine, I guess. I turn it on, it works.....I was using no humidifier at first, but felt a bit dry, so have the setting on 1.
Nasal pillows are really comfortable, headgear is comfortable.... sometimes slips a bit when I turn on my side, thats all.
I wake a few times in the night, go to sleep again quickly. Some of my stats show snoring, but not for the last 2 nights.
I had a sleep test in hospital a couple of weeks ago, and the Dr queried leg movements....PLMI 19.2 which compared to my first sleep study was PLMI 1.3/hr he sort of mumbled about it...... but didn't explain. whats with the limb movements???

Limb movements if excessive can disrupt sleep and anything that disrupts sleep is of course unwanted.
Sometimes PLMD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodic_l ... t_disorder is a separate problem from sleep apnea and sometimes it improves with cpap therapy.
I don't know a whole lot about it other than very general stuff but if you want to get the attention of kteague who has first hand knowledge about PLMD then add PLMD question to your topic subject title.
Or take a stroll through some of her various posts.

She's the poster child for PLMD.

Thank you - looks interesting. PLMI seems an obscure condition!
Re: some comments please? - on cpap 44 days
Looking good
The most recent night had a much higher pressure, was something different that night? Few drinks?
Looking good though.

Did your doctor give you an arousal index of the leg movements?
If your leg movements are associated with arousals, then it's likely to make you tired during the day. If you're not arousing though it shouldn't make you tired, just be a little annoying for the person in bed next to you :p

Can you post the detail graph for that Most Recent night (3/2/2012)? The 19.80 Average Pressure looks spurious (especially if you consider that the Max Pressure is only 16).
Re: some comments please? - on cpap 44 days
PLMD is not particularly rare here at all, and neither is a similar condition "Restless Legs Syndrome" (RLS). You can find more info by clicking the lightbulb at the top of the page here or Googling.

Thanks everyone - yes, the pressure is very high - I don't know how to interpret the stats - am learning, with your help.
Last night I went to bed WAY later than I usually do. I nibbled all day, didn't have a proper dinner. Yep, I drank wine

Do these graphs/data help? (Last nights stuff)
The Total PLMI of my sleep study was 19.2/hr and Limb Movement Arousals were 3.0/hr

"IMHO" you need to completely uninstall and reinstall a fresh copy of SH. That one looks corrupt.

Funny thing..... the graphs work on my husbands computer, not on mine.... however I appreciate the questions re pressure
I will reinstall, now that I learned about the patch... what a drama it all was!
Off to bed right now.
Thanks for your help!!

Well, I don't understand some things. How can your average pressure jump from 4+ to 19.80 and yet your max pressure is set at 16? Pugsy?thousandeyes wrote:Seeking some comments please - I think I am responding well to cpap??

There's something wrong sign hour download. Your 95% can't be lower than your average pressure??
Re: some comments please? - on cpap 44 days
The statistics page in SleepyHead is buggy. Plain and simple. Mine is so far off in a couple of spots it isn't even close. That's one of the reasons I don't bother with that page except for general viewing.ughwhatname wrote:Well, I don't understand some things. Installing SleepyHead again won't fix this issue .
The 60 series Patch isn't perfect either.
My suggestion..disregard the obvious buggy details and concentrate on the daily details because I haven't found them to be wrong and I have use both ResMed and Respironics software to compare the daily details. Pretty much spot on with maybe a little variance in decimal points.
Remember SH is still Beta and really has not had a major update since its first Beta release. It's still an infant in terms of polish and bugginess. The update was for minor issues and the Patch update would just to get things at least sort of working with the 60 series machine....it is far from polished.
