Bi-pap 20/19 best machine?

Post by grisibella » Sun Apr 23, 2006 6:27 pm

I currently have a Tranquility Bi-pap which has no data collection other than hours of use. It is rather old, and I'm ready to replace it, but I'm very confused by all the availability.

Does anyone out there have similar pressures and recommendations?

I also am still struggling with masks. So far, Ultra Mirage has worked best for me (confirmed mouth breather). I just ordered two new F&P and Hans Rudolph FF masks, but haven't received yet.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The tranquility BiLevel seems to me to be a very nice steady reliable unit that works very well.

Before you give it up for a new model, do try the new machine 1st & make certain that you are taking a step forward.

I agree the one thing missing from it is the detailed data for downloading. I have the same issue with my PB330 Knightstar, I want detailed data but it doesn't supply it. I bought a Bipap S/T (as well as a couple of Bipap Pro 2s) and can say that to-date they are not getting used because they are not as flexible nor do they functions as well as the PB330.

I am hoping I can get some assistance from Respironics to resolve the issues as I regard their machines as magnificently constructed and I want to use them.

Good luck

The Respironics Auto BiPAP has available software, is automatic, and the top setting is 25 instead of 20. If you are already at 19/20, you might want a unit that can go higher, so it will still be usable if your needs change.

I seem to remember that somewhere there is a unit that goes to 30. I certainly hope I NEVER need that much pressure!

The PB330 goes to 30. The Respironics Bipap Pro 2 & AUTO go to 25. The new Bipap S/T & Synchrony go to 30.

The PB425 only goes to 20.

Am guessing the VPAP IIIs can go to 30 but I haven't got access to a manual at the moment.

Cheers
