Since I started CPAP almost three weeks ago, I have been using the Swift FX nasal pillows with varying degrees of success. Last night I decided to try the ComfortGel Blue Nasal CPAP Mask that I had gotten at my sleep study. My AHI was only 0.6. I feel like I slept fairly well, though not through the night. According to the Sleepyhead data I had just 4 events (1 CA, 2 H, 1 OA) but had 10 vibratory snores (with the nasal pillows I never went over 3).
My question is whether I needed to tell the CPAP machine that I was using a different mask. The numbers seemed too good to be true given that I was averaging over 3.5 for the last 9 days and over 5 for the first 9 days on CPAP. I can't see where I can change the mask type and the DME didn't tell me to. Is there something I should do or were those numbers real?

Re: First night with a different mask
I don't know about PR machines but with Resmeds the mask type is only used for estimating intentional leak rate for the mask type. Shouldn't affect anything else. Since PR's report total leak it shouldn't make any difference at all.

Re: First night with a different mask
Confirmed...the Respironics doesn't need to know mask type before reporting anything...there is a setting for Mask Resistance selection but if it doesn't relate to leak numbers or AHI numbers. It's for a totally different function that is unrelated to anything that gets reported.
