If you are comfortable with a full face mask, it is easier than taping your mouth shut every night.
But, a lot of people find that full face masks are more difficult to use, so it really depends on your preference. I have to breathe through my mouth, so I need mine open, and a full face mask works great for me.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Re: Maks for open mouth problem
The thought of using a chinstrap or taping my mouth at night gives me the jimmies! Lots of cpap folks do it every night. I enjoy and I have to breath thru my mouth... so it's a preference thing. A full face mask is more intrusive, but will allow mouth-breathing. In my humble opinion, I would stick with your current mask providing that the leak rates are down, its comfortable, and you are used to (or happy) with the mask. Food for thought: if you decide to keep your nasal mask, you may consider a full face mask as a back up. If you have sinus issues or catch a cold, you can use the full face in an emergency. You don't want to have sinus issues or a cold and have to adapt to a full face mask at the same time. Do the "adapting" now... while you are feeling better.

I have used three different full face masks and did not have problems with leaks or discomfort.
You may have to try a few different types before you find the one that you like the best.
FFMs are really great when you have a cold or allergies!

Re: Maks for open mouth problem
I tried several from our hosts (cpapdotcom), and used the return insurance to cut my losses.
One mask that was really awesome (but didn't fit ME) was the DeVilbiss Silkgel full face.
{the elbow is phenomenal!}
I wear the P/R comfortgel full face when my nose is clogged,
and I had to "take in" the headgear to fit my petite skull.
This gel mask is heavy in weight, but thick where it needs to be.
Resmed masks rock on my cheekbones, but might fit a more "normal" face.

If you're happy with the nasal pillows, I would just find a chinstrap or make your own somehow. A lot easier and cheaper than buying a new full face mask.
Re: Maks for open mouth problem
Thanks to all !!!
I am happy with my nasal mask !!
I think a full face mask maybe not so good for me..
my problem is dry mouth during the night waking me to drink water....
more water more times on bathroom...all this summed equals a night not so good...and therapy not fully functional...
I will buy a chinstrap to try...
let all know !!

Know that the dry mouth is a symptom of mouth breathing. Good luck with the chinstrap. Sheriff

Re: Maks for open mouth problem
Mouth breathing will still dry you out a bit with a full face mask. It won't be as bad because your machine won't be blowing air in your nose and out your mouth, but if your mouth is hanging open, the air going past will dry it out. The main advantage with a full face is that you can breathe through your mouth if you need to. I use one because sometimes I can't breathe through my nose at all, even with the extra pressure. With a nasal mask, I'd never get to sleep on those nights. But if you can breathe through your nose fairly well, I'd try a chinstrap first.

The full face mask that I use is the Quattro FX Full Face mask. It clips under your eyes and does not have the piece that goes between your eyes to your forehead. It is easy to release the bottom clips and raise the mask to get a drink of water when you mouth is dry and the bottom clips can be clipped in the dark very easily. The top straps are velcro and only need adjusting if the mask leaks.
