Anyone use wisp masks?

Post by melindy » Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:45 am

I'm getting my mask at the dme on Monday. I tried on 4 at the lab and liked the wisp the best but notice not many people use that or talk about it. Is it a bad mask?

The Wisp is still fairly new, and not available everywhere.
Those paying out of pocket may be waiting to buy it at our favorite online retailer, because of expected lower pricing.
Respironics seems to be only selling it to DME's right now.
I can wait.

Like ChunkyFrog says...it's a really new mask and not many people have tried it.
A couple of forum members have and didn't care for it but it's going to be just like any other mask out there...you might love what we might hate.

So we don't have a lot of member input since it has only just become available and not many people have it had a chance to even see it.

My DME only got 2 demos and gave one out (the person hated it) and would have given me the other demo but couldn't find it. So I haven't seen it either.

I use it and I really like it. My only issue is finding a chinstrap that will work for me. I may be forced to move to a FF, which will bum me out because I like the wisp.

I'm not sure what to expect - it looks quite comfortable, but I'm hoping that it will stay in place securely when I sleep on my side. I have been watching for one for a while, and found someone selling it on ebay yesterday. Reasonable price, so it's now on its way to me - I'm looking forward to trying it

I have spent 2 nights with my Wisp. I am very, very happy with it. I did make a fuzzy cover for the headgear as the snap/button thing left a big indent. It seals well and is very comfortable compared to the Mirage Fx. Very quiet too.... am a happy camper so far!

I was able to sleep through the night with my Wisp after only three days, and it's been smooth sailing every since. The mask has three nose cushion sizes. My resp. therapist tightened the straps for me so it sits on my face with very little pressure, just enough to make a seal but without leaving marks. I'm pleased with it, and would get it again when this one wears out.
