Having trouble with straps

Post by MsBea » Tue Feb 12, 2013 6:00 pm

I know I take my mask off wrong, as I just pull it over my head, but the straps that hook into the mask didn't use to come loose so easily. They come lose every time I take it off. I wonder if they are making it smaller? Any ideas?

You can destroy a rubber band by repeatedly stretching it. They call it "elastic fatigue".
It can happen to headgear, too, and yes, you may have sped it up.

Let me clarify. These are new headgear that I'm talking about. Where they hook into the top of the mask, they come half loose every time I take it off and I have to rehook it before putting it back on. I did not have that happen before with previous headgear even when it was old and stretched out.

I don't have the same mask, but I always undo the clips at the bottom and then lift it off my head.

Maybe you are putting too much stress on the clips.
