I'm using the Remstar Auto A-Flex with a Quattro FX.
I see data you folks are posting on here concerning the number of AHIs or leaks , etc. Does the machine show the stats or for you ghave some special software for giving you the numbers so you know how you are progressing? Does the data card come out and get read in a computer or what?
I am a one week newbie and still have a ton to learn. I anm sooo glad to have found thie site with such caring folks.
Thanks! Jack in Hot Springs, AR

I'm not familiar with your machine. I have a Respironics System One and it has a data card that I read in the computer using the Sleepyhead software for the detailed data. My machine also gives some data in the Info section on the LCD screen.

Re: Where does your data come from?
Jack,
Is this the old Remstar M Series or the new Respironics Remstar System One (AKA the PRS1) Series?
If you take the water tank out of your humidifier and look at the bottom of your blower, it should have a 3-digit code such as 660, 650, 550, 150, etc... This is the model number on the newer PRS1

When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!
Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on getting started with CPAP.
Not all machines can collect data. You need one that is "data capable". Others have suggested ways to tell what kind of machine it is that you have. Some machines show summary numbers on a small digital screen. However, some clinics disable that display trying to keep you from knowing our own information. Also, many machines have a data card, and some of the more advanced ones store detail level data on those cards. The machines that are 3 to 6 years old have smart cards that require a special card reader. Newer ones have SD cards that can be read by any computer.
Once the data is read, you need software to make sense of it. Each manufacture makes their own software, and there is a freely available program called SleepyHead that works for many recent machines. Since there are so many options and variations, the first place to start is what make and model of machine you are using.
The data is pretty valuable both when you are getting started, and when you are having issues. It can tell if you are having events, the type and severity of the events, and how the machine is reacting to those events.

Re: Where does your data come from?
Jack,
Looking back at your first post, I'm pretty sure the machine you described is the PRS1 model 560 or 550. If that's the case, you can either download Sleepyhead or PM Pugsy for information on how to download Encore Basic for Windows.
