Australians - any experience in buying equip. online?
Anyone have experience in buying online? I'd like to buy for less than the $1700 quoted for my equipment, but am worried about getting exactly the right machine - model numbers seem to vary

I bought a "gently used" back- up machine from SecondWind and they were great with helping me and getting it shipped quickly.
I have found it easier buying local for my "everyday" machine because if anything goes wrong (and it has) then I can take it back and when it did they gave me a rental straight away.

its a bit easier with ResMed S9, just avoid the Escape models (S9 Escape or S9 Escape Auto)thousandeyes wrote:Anyone have experience in buying online? I'd like to buy for less than the $1700 quoted for my equipment, but am worried about getting exactly the right machine - model numbers seem to vary
S9 autoSet and Elite are full data capable machines
not all US on-line suppliers ship ResMed products outside US but secondwindcpap.com and 1800cpap does
the machine in your profile is PRS1 Auto 550 (50 series) $595 include the humidifier
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/3041
if wanted the newer machine with heated hose option
PRS1 Auto 560 (60 series) with the heated hose option, read here
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/pr-sy ... -tube.html
you can check with Grand-PAP and STL Mark, see if they can help you out
both are highly recommended here
if wanted cheap quality used machine , PM mcdover

machines are multi-voltage, you only need power plug adapter or different power cord which you can get from cpapaustralia.com

No I was very luckily I got mine free through the Brisbane Public Hospital. In would have no idea what machine I needed if I had to do it myself.

Thanks everyone, that was really good information for me. I was surprised that machines may not be reliable - do faults happen often? Buying local where I can get a replacement machine seems a useful idea, but economy is still important. I will have to look into it and do some searches. I think technology is moving fast too, and the machines seem to be improving all the time. I really appreciate your help, thanks for replying.
