Three brands stand out for me; Resmed, Respironics, and DevilBiss. (in that order)
This is a blog which defines which ones give the best data (or not)

Resmed and Respironics are probably the 2 largest players in the cpap market here in the US.
Followed by Devilbiss and lastly Fisher & Paykel.

I did a quick look at the Dreamstar Evolve...it appears to be a straight cpap machine from what I can see.
Intro model being a basic cpap machine with hours of use data
Info model being a cpap machine with efficacy data.

Is having access to any efficacy data important to you at all? If so, target the full data machines (explained in my first link above).

Thanks for all that info - I had James sit down and type it in before. As he is 16 and he is the one that has to use the machine. currently we are unable to access the data, and we have to rely on the rep to come once a month, or when we go to the sleep consultant . We have to bring the machine with us. James disconnects the hose daily and hangs it. As far as the data . Right now till he has it a year or two - think it best that a professional interrpret.

It's great to have a professional interpret the data. My point was that some machines don't gather any useful data to be interpreted.
Just because a machine has a SD card in it doesn't mean it is a full data machine. Here in the US there are a lot of machines that only gather hours of use data on the SD card. It is used primarily to satisfy any insurance compliance requirements.

Example...full data would show leak data (among a bunch of other stuff) and if leaks are excessive the therapy can be suboptimal.
If someone has a machine that only gathers hours of use there is zero way to even have an idea if leaks might be a problem.
People can and do sleep though massive leaks....I can. Fortunately in my case they don't happen often or last very long.

Since full data machines don't cost all that much more than a compliance only hours of use machine (maybe $50) I feel it is best to have a full data machine. Even if someone doesn't want to see the data themselves at least it would be available to be reviewed by the medical team or even the patient.

Get a machine that offers full data even if you don't want to look at it yourself. Your doctor might. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Especially when it comes to our kids.
