I've been desperately looking for SOMETHING other than the cpap wipes made of 'natural ingredients' (but the ingredients are never listed other than coconut oil) that I can make cpap mask wipes from that don't drive me bonkers from the smell.
It looks like rosewater might be my first trial and error. . .any one ever try this? I looked on the search and didn't find anything. Burt's Bees Rosewater might be my first stop. Please let me know if you've ever tried this and what your results might have been.
Also, do any of you know of any other natural oil cleansers. . .that might be used? That smell good?
Thanks!
Edit: eh. . scrap the Burt's Bees Rosewater - it has alcohol in it.

not used as a cleanser... but have used glycerin and rosewater... probably could check at a healthfood store (for example Whole Foods). Used to use it for chapped hands in the winter

Tea tree oil is a natural anti bacterial and anti fungicide. It does have a strong medicinal smell so use it sparingly.
Personally, I found it better as an anti fungal then the prescription meds the doctor gave me.

Hi there, am still pretty new at all this.....but yes, realizing the tube has moisture in it and even if i hang it,i am not sure it is drying thoroughly. i just won't use those commercial products and "dryers". just for instance, something called the "Citrus II Cpap Mask Wipes", have "METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE: Methylisothiazolinone is a widely-used preservative; has been associated with allergic reactions. Lab studies on the brain cells of mammals also suggest that methylisothiazolinone may be neurotoxic.
as just one of their ingredients i haven't even researched the other unpronounceable ones....
so would love any help.....the little nasal pillows smell like a petroleum product, which they are, and this is my new friend, so am just dealing with it....i see ads for Aromatherapy use with the CPap, but with names like bubble gum etc....i know there is weird nastiness involved in those ingredients....but what a great concept, to be able to introduce something like lavender or rose to the air intake somehow.....i wonder about a drop on the little paper filter?
any ideas folks?

I wouldn't put anything on the filter especially some sort of essential oil as it could potentially block the filtering process and potentially maybe get oil into the inner workings of the machine.magicis wrote:but what a great concept, to be able to introduce something like lavender or rose to the air intake somehow.....i wonder about a drop on the little paper filter?
Instead how about putting a couple drops of your favorite fragrance on a little cotton ball and set it next to the air intake of your machine? That's what I do if I want some aromatherapy.
The Pur-Sleep essential oils actually have a little paper disc that sets on a little tray but the same can be done with a cotton ball sitting on anything to protect the table finish.

Re: Rose Water and other natural cleansers
I have used an organic eucalyptus oil for years. Pur-Sleep products are wonderful and that's where I started to see what I liked. They have a variety. Anyway, I've settled on the eucalyptus and use a cotton felt pad on a little dish (that originally came from Pur-Sleep) to put the oil on. Just a few drops does it. No more plastic smell. Also, I think the oil keeps my airways open. I've had very little use for the neti-pot since using them.
