Inexpensive hose drier

Post by Conrad » Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:10 am

I have a AC/DC air pump that came with a airbed that we use for camping. The pump can either blow or suck (get your mind out of the gutter already!) and it came with three adapters. One of the adapters fits my machine's hose perfectly. After I wash my hose I just hook 'er up and let it blow for a few minutes and the hose is nice and dry.

My pump is similar to this one, except this one only runs off of AC.

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many...

It takes less time to do a thing right than to explain why you did it wrong.

Cool - I have the same pump for rafts at the pool, I'm going to get it out for hose drying. You just motivated me to clean my hoses more often. Notice I say mine, I have a zillion hoses that my DME sent out over the past several year, so when hubby's need cleaning, I can just hook up a new one.

That is the kinkiest way to dry a hose I ever heard.

I'll stick to my traditional use of the bath towel to dry my hose and leave the sexual kinks for bed.

Why the heck are you washing the inside of the hose?

Every time you wash the hose, do you take the CPAP machine apart and wash all the parts, including the fan, that the air moves across?

They are programmed by mass propaganda marketing ... it's a pandemic and happening just about everywhere. People seem to have lost the ability to think for themselves and just do whatever the authorities tell them.

Since when is trying to keep your medical device sanitary a bad thing? I'm due for time out since I regularly clean my hose and use distilled water

Yes, Cosmo.
Go sit in the corner for being a clean freak and an equipment-ista.

You are more likely to introduce something* into your hose by washing it than by shutting it up a drawer when not in use.

*That "something" being one of the nasty, flesh-eating, brain-dissolving, testicle-inflaming, mucous membrane-corroding, lymph-node braziering microscopic, lifal elements that are in every cubic centimeter of the typical CPAPer's environment. There oughta be a law!

Cleaning it is not the bad thing .... allowing it to get dirty in the first place is.

Don't throw your CPAP equipment in any garbage can you come across. Don't leave your CPAP equipment lying around in the dirt. Don't lend your CPAP equipment to someone who might use it for kinky sex fetishes. Don't use your CPAP equipment to vacuum the floor. It really is fairly simple not to let your CPAP equipment get dirty in the first place ... just keep it by your bedside or the nightstand drawer and it should be fairly safe.

Actually I did say STOP several times, it had no effect on them whatsoever. I did refuse a shipment several times - they just kept sending anyway. At least now I know I can ask when I need them. Hopefully I will get what I need, but with new Medicare rules, who knows?

That is why I never did allow my DME to decide what I needed or when I needed it.

I WAS kidding earlier about "you" being responsible for the Medicare change.

But, the DMEs ARE responsible for the Medicare change & now they are complaining about the "hoops" they have to jump through to sell you something.
