Nasal Pillow Service Life

Post by jtmarten » Mon Jan 21, 2013 7:56 am

I've been using an Opus 360 for the last three months. No problem with leaks for the first couple months, but the last couple weeks they've gotten really bad. I made some headgear adjustments and the leaks decreased for a few nights. Sat night we were out of town for my wife's employer holiday party, and the leaks were so bad I finally had to take off the mask and sleep without it the rest of the night. Switched back to the comfortgel nasal mask last night and slept great.
Its been such a dry winter, I'm wondering if the pillows may shrink? Or is it just time to replace them after three months of use?
Thanks!

Try cutting up a t-shirt to make a liner for your mask, I did that and really helped the leaks. Also, be sure to wash your cushion frequently, the silicon does get stiff with oils and stuff.

It's probably time to use a new pillow. I'm using the Opti-life mask and I'm noticing more leaks and difficulty getting it fitted at night after about 2 months on a pillow. I changed to a new one last night and found it much easier to control the leaks and set up for the night.
