Okay,
I have been on the APAP for two weeks now and I am getting some wild numbers on the data next day. Can anyone shed light on what more or less are considered acceptable numbers for leak, AHI, HI, AI and such?
Also, I have been keeping my new Resmed Vantage plugged in all the time and I see that that means the heater is always on? Should I be unplugging the unit when not in use? Thank you

I have the S8 Vantage with the 3i intergrated humidifier and its heater is not on unless I have it turned on using the knob on the top. I've stuck my finger into the water and onto the heating plate to be sure. It's my impression that both the knob on top and the "Warmup" feature must be engaged to heat the water without the machine running but I've never checked it out in that much detail. But the heater definitely turns off using the knob.
As for AI, HI, AHI I don't know what to tell you. I've been using it for a month and the AI is generally between 0.5 and 1.0 while my HI is anywhere from 6-12 with the higher numbers associated with mouth leaks. Even with my mouth closed and the leak rate around 0.1L/sec I'll still see 5 or 6 hypopneas per hour reported on average. I don't know if that's true obstructions or just a measurement issue with the APAP.

You want your AHI's under 5 (That based on a hour) The Snore rate as low as you can get it. the lower it is the more restful the nights sleep.
AHI = OA + H, OA can be raising the pressure, but if you go too high it causes H to raise. (Bad) So the object is to find the Sweet Spot, where the numbers are the lowest, without a rise in H.
