CPAP headaches

Post by algerwetmore » Wed Dec 19, 2012 10:12 am

I am getting "ice cream" style headaches every morning for the past two weeks. It was more severe when my cpap machine had the humidifier on, but less severe this week with the humidier off. I am taking topamax and imatrex for the headaches, but the headaches frequently redevelop in the evening.
I am having a sleep study done tonight to recheck my oxygen levels and I have an appointment with a neurogolist. although it's not until mid Feb.
My past headache episode is usually a cluster of three or four days and is often associated with changes in barometric pressures. Although this last observation may be entirely anecdotal. Any insights or encouragement would be helpful. Thanks.

Not sure what could be causing your headaches, however owning a good recording oximeter would certainly give you some answers as to whether your O2 levels are in good range.

Cheers,

Welcome to the board. Please fill in your equipment on your profile so we can help you better. There's a link in my signature line.

How long have you been doing CPAP? Sometimes, your body is a little screwed up for a while as it readjusts to not being strangled over and over in your sleep.
