My Zeo Bedside no longer sounds an alarm?

Post by lazer » Tue Dec 18, 2012 9:16 am

The alarm goes off - I can see it on the screen asking to press the (alarm) button and the > which I do to stop it.

I get no audio whatsoever.

Tried going into the settings and changing the (ringer) or whatever tone it's called to others.

Is there a volume setting somewhere or something else I may have inadvertently hit?

Used to work = sound the audio to wake up flawlessly.

According to the Zeo website, there is no volume setting:

Silly question but are you giving it enough time for the volume level to gradually rise so that you can hear it?

You probably messed with a setting. I'll check mine later when I get home.

Thanks for asking but yea I'm sure because as my other "backup" alarms sounded last couple days, I looked up and it was like 5 to 10 minutes past the Zeo alarm time and the screen on the Zeo was indicating to turn off the presumably sounding alarm which wasn't actually sounding.

Cool, Let me know if you figure anything out. I'm going to delv into the setting myself if I think about it after I get home also.

Oh, I didn't think of that. I unplugged it a few times and waited like 30 seconds each time to plug it back in to no avail.

I've sent a customer service request to their support email describing the "no audio" problem.

Will consider trying the factory reset OR see if they have anything different to say IF they get back to me.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Out of an abundance of caution, I would grab the data off of the SD card and do one final upload to the website before doing any reset.

Great news!

I did the factory reset last night. (I left the SDCard out when I did it). Data still intact from the card via my upload this morning.

Initially upon doing the reset, things didn't seem to be any better. I still couldn't here the "preview" of the alarms in the settings menu so figured it didn't resolve.

Well this morning, low and behold, my alarm sounded!

I didn't take the time to go back into the settings menu and scroll through the different alarms to see if I get audible preview but will check that out tonight just for kicks.

Well, It's not a happy ending in reality.

My Zeo is still acting up. It will sound on first alarm but if you hit snooze, there is no more alarm sounds making it rather useless as an alarm clock. The initial alarm sounds are a bit crackly also.

And I wrote to Zeo and had first thought I bought it on Amazon but later discovered when going through my receipts to provide them a copy that I had purchased it "NEW" off E-bay. After I sent them this documentation (Scanned invoice), they backed away and said "No warranty coverage - Ebay not considered authorized reseller..." So it looks like I'm porked and stuck with a $125 sleep monitoring device with a faulty alarm clock.

So a general warning to others: Don't purchase the Zeo off ebay whether NEW or not as you will not have a manufactor's warranty!
