Swift FX and Aloha Nasal Pillow Comparison

Post by ZenaPrincessSnoozer » Sun Dec 16, 2012 3:27 pm

Hi
I have the Swift FX For Her and I really like it. Unfortunately, CPAP.com cannot ship to Canada. The DMEs here all charge about $250 for the Swift. My employee health plan does not cover any supplies at all, except the first mask, once every five years.
I am looking for suggestions for a cheaper alternative that I can purchase on line. The Aloha Nasal Pillow reviews look good. I use the Extra Small Swift pillows. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used both masks whether the Aloha pillows fit about the same. Should I stick with XS, or move up to S ?

Also, if there are any suggestions abour other similar masks that I might like, I would welcome your wise suggestions.

I have primarily used the Swift FX since its release but when the Aloha came out last spring I just had to try it because it looked interesting and a lot of people liked it. I liked it also. Not quite as much as the Swift FX though.
I can use the XSmall and Small in the Swift FX and I can use both in the Aloha. I think you will be fine with the XSmall in the Aloha.

If you are just needing replacement pillows for the Swift FX you might check out EBay. Lots of them offered there and I think some sellers will ship to Canada. Will cost a little more but not horribly much more.
Should it be too much of a problem send me a private message and we can work something out...I don't mind shipping to Canada at all and nothing stops me from sending ResMed stuff. I do it often.

Thanks for the kind replies. I guess it is time for me to take a look at eBay. That will be a first for me!

I'm sure it breaks some rule but i'd be willing to order them for you from cpap and then reship them to you - grandpa was a canuck

I used the swift fx before I switched to a Respironics Opti-Life. With the FX I needed a chin strap but the opti-life is made with an integral chin strap which works for me. The Opti-life came with xs, s, m, & l pillows and though I use the medium on both the fx and optilife the optilife pillows seem to fit me a bit better than the fx ones ever did.
