OMG I may have to take back my DME comments

Post by Tino2You » Sat Dec 01, 2012 9:47 am

Hi everyone,

I just celebrated (?) my six month anniversary on CPAP. I just got a call from Aripa about my six month resupply. The (OMG I can't believe I am saying this) very nice and professional person on the phone said I could get a new water tank (the one that opens up), filters, mask and hose. I told him about my need for ClimateLine and how I when I asked for one at the 3 month mark, I was told "wasn't on your Rx" so I bought it from cpap.com. He put me on hold and checked on it. He came back and say, "Yes" they would supply me with a heated hose!

When we talked about masks, he said I could get a new Swift FX mask+head gear and 2 extra pillows. I asked him if I could select a new kind of mask, maybe a hybrid. He told me I have two choices. I can make an appointment to get fitted for a new mask and if it doesn't work, I can return it, or I can order the size/model that I think I need and have it shipped to me without the ability of return. I am now waiting on my appointment and my package in the mail with filters, hose and tank. Oh btw...my FX is still my "go to" mask. I have enough parts to make 2 new masks minus the head gear and still have extra pillows.

So, for now, using just this experience, at this time (is that enough qualifiers?) take back all the mean, cruel things I have said about Apria. Maybe they got religion, or realize that good customer service benefits their bottom line!

The biggest problem with Apria is billing. Another problem I had was shipping the wrong merchandise and pushing supplies that I didn't need. I told them not to call...I would call when I needed something.

They could also be doing the Pavlov thing. Every once in while they do something super nice to keep you hooked. That is how abusers keep their victims from leaving, after they beat them they sometimes bring flowers and gifts and say sorry and how much they love them. It is the random acts of kindness they keeps people hooked.

A new hire who doesn't know the ropes yet.

I bought my own S9 Autoset, I wonder if Apria would give me supplies for it instead. They will supply me a Respironics machine soon.

Yeah, I had my appt with sleep doc yesterday and he wasn't happy that I'm stuck with Apria. Even he said they're horrible.

Hey, at least they CALLED you! They do NOTHING for me, don't review my data, don't send it to the doc when they're supposed to...nada, zip, zilch.

There should be a way to clone your representative and fly them to Denver and anywhere else needed.

Remember you mentioned a COMPETITOR!

Oft times that works in many capitalistic venues,

Remember if YOU WALK, they LOSE MONEY! (ie cash cow, even if a little cow)
