Best way to clean the headgear

Post by babon87 » Wed Nov 07, 2012 5:46 pm

May sound silly but how long does the headgears lasts ? What is the best way to clean them ?
Mine seems to be getting some fuzzy stuff around the velcro and I haven't been able to make them work right.
Thanks guys , You people saved me , I have been two years on CPAP and couldn't have done it without this forum !

Babon
I just throw mine in the washing machine with my other clothes...but i make sure the velcro part is tabbed down so that it doesn't stick to everything else.
The longevity of the headgear is invividual, it all depends on how you take care of it and how tight you make it.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I do the same thing, throw it in the wash and make sure it is in warm water not hot. My headgear lasts about 6 months but I do not keep it very tight, just enough.

Lingerie bag, gentle cycle.
For the fuzzies, I use a good pair of scissors and give it a little 'haircut'.

Ditto on washing machine. I learned the hard way about the velcro picking up everything.
