Sudden burst of air

Post by possum » Wed Oct 31, 2012 6:23 am

Hello all I am at the 6 mo period on my s9 machine. My data from last night is
pressure 13.4
leak 0L/MIN
AHI 0.3
Total AI 0.2
Central AI 0.1

I realize these numbers look good but here is my problem. My pressure setting on Auto set is 11-20 my average for each night is between 12.8 and the 13.4 I will be in a deep sleep and a burst of air comes out between nasal pillows and nose and also out of the exhaust port of my swift FX, this also happens when using my Opus 360. The seal is good
no problem there. This wakes me up and then I struggle to stay asleep because just as I fall back to sleep it happens again. I am wandering if I should set the machine on straight Cpap because I can handle the pressure, and what pressure should I set it at? I am thinking I could sleep through the night if I am not being woke up. One more thing, I mouth tape so the air is not coming from my mouth.

Can you post the graphs from one of the nights where the machine freaks out?

While you are thinking about changing setting on your APAP, have you considered adjusting the upper limit to be lower? What is your 95% pressure setting? To start I would lower it to a couple tenths above that number.

Just my opinion...yours may be different.

When you get the burst of air, look at the display and see what the pressure is.

If you reset to CPAP mode I would set the pressure at 13 for a few days and watch your data...make small adjustment if needed.

I don't have sleepy head so I can't show my graphs but I will first try maybe 16 on the high end since my 95% is 13.4 if that doesn't work I may try the cpap mode at 13.
