Rant I feel taken advantage of

I feel very taken advantage of from my cpap supplier. I did follow advice and am using the DME with my sleep center for my first one. They are working with my insurance company and only renting the machine for 3 months then I have the privilege of buying unit at a reduced cost. The worst of it is the machine is sold with a heated hose and humidifier that I had to over pay for both separately..... not even the heated hose only would come with a standard 6' . The 2nd slap came from the fact that I was only given 1 option with my mask, but feel lucky that I have very little issues with that the fit seems right very little to no leak problems. I am pushing for a copy of my prescription and will get my next Dr appointment. Just wanted to share my 1st DME experience

If you have insurance...why did you have to 'pay for' the humidifier and hose. With most insurance the humidifier and hose are purchase items...not rentals like the machine but they are covered by insurance.

You should have called your insurance company first to see what they cover and at what percentage before letting a DME sell you anything.

sleep center dme;s would be the last choice of most experienced people
tho you did get a good working mask you said.
how do you know it doesnt leak?

You need to call your insurance, and probably choose a different DME. They work for you, pick a different one!
