Anyone using InfoSmart Software for F&P Icon?

Post by jencat824 » Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:30 pm

If you are using the InfoSmart software for the F&P Icon, could you help me with how you got the software, how did you get it to download and open? I am having an awful time with this. I have never been able to see my own data before, and now that I have a machine that is capable, I want to be able to particiapte in my own theray this way. I have a copy of the software but cannot get past opening the .exe file. It just will not open.
Thanks for anyone who might help.
Jen

Giving you a little bump and will continue to do so every now and then in hopes that someone who has successfully installed and used this software will pop in to the forum and see your thread.

I will try again to install it...but so far I can't even get it to download. Totally stops at 20%.

If we have some computer geeks who are willing to try to see if they can get the install done and help jen out...send me a private message and I will point you to where you can get this software.
Don't have to use the Icon or the software....just get the steps needed to install. I did it once but that was a long time ago.
It has to be done in steps...administrator install first...the patient portion and I forget the steps but major PITA.
Makes Encore Pro and all it's demons look like a little angel.

Hi, I've got the software on the official CD - v1.1 SP1, I registered it to get the serial number, then downloaded the SP2 update. I bought the software in Australia, but they say they don't ship overseas.

That said, I don't have it running yet! The server isn't starting up properly, the logs show an error:
2012-10-10 19:04:45,255 ERROR EXCEPTION BootstrapSecurityService.Execute
System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: The TransportManager failed to listen on the supplied URI using the NetTcpPortSharing service: failed to start the service because it is disabled. An administrator can enable it by running 'sc.exe config NetTcpPortSharing start= demand'.. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service NetTcpPortSharing on computer '.'. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it

The NetTcpPortSharing service is running on my PC, so I'm not sure what's up - just looking at whether I may be able to run it in a virtual XP instance or something. It's a bit frustrating, I'll let you know if I get it running, send me a PM if I can help you in any way.

Cheers,
Mick

Update: I set up Windows Virtual PC with XP Mode and installed InfoSmart, it installed properly from the CD and is running. However, that probably doesn't help much if you don't have access to the CD...

Cheers,
Mick

Where did you buy the CD, I know you said Austraila, but could you PM me a link or suggestion as to where I can buy it?

Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jencat,

I have the exact same model CPAP machine as you and I got a hold of only a trial of the software. However due to the fact that it was awkward to use and expensive to buy- I gave Sleepy Head a go. This is an open source software package that essentially does the same thing as the ICON official software - but it's free! It really was crucial in my early days of cpap, seeing what worked and what did not helped me tune and tinker my night time routine until I was getting the best out of the machine. I highly recommend the software. Its a bit odd to use at first but you'll get the hang pretty quick.

You can download it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/

If you need help getting it to work feel free to PM me, but its pretty straighforward. Last of all - if you find that the software suits your needs - consider making a small donation to the developer. It's good to support open source software

Well... I've downloaded & installed Sleepyhead with no problems, but now cannot get data to download from Icon stick. Can you tell me how you got this to read? Thanks,
Jen

Can you access the folder on the Infostick with your MyComputer? You know navigate to where the Infostick is?
Whatever drive the stick is in ...that is all that goes in the SH drive choice line. If you have anything more than the drive letter you have gone too far.

OK, I was going too far, now back to L:drive but it still says "no new data to import' also when I looked from my computer drive the date on all the files was 01/01/2007 - why 2007? is this data corrupt?

Have I told you lately how much I hate F & P in general?

I have no idea what is going on with the dates. Do you have access to any data on the machines LCD screen?

I wasn't sure SleepyHead supported the Icon yet on all platforms? I know it does on the Mac build - which platform and version of SH are we talking about?

Cheers,

Mick

F & P was the last to sort of get supported by SH. Far from perfect but offered some data last I heard. Don't think it matters if Windows or Mac build.

Hmmm...last time I tried Sleepyhead it appeared to only support the Icon on the Mac version... for sure someone is using the PC version of Sleepyhead with an Icon?

I'm trying to use it on PC, maybe that's why I can't get it to work?

Can't access data from machine screen. Maybe that's the problem.
