Opus 360 and higher pressures

Post by emt_271 » Thu Oct 04, 2012 9:26 pm

My DME thinks my pressure is too high to be comfortable with a nasal pillow device. I think I want to try an Opus 360, I have had real good reults with the Respironics Easy Life Nasal. I'm at 17 in and 11 out - anybody out there using a 360 with pressures like that?

The DMEs will tell you that, but I use the Opus 360 and my pressure on auto CPAP frequently reaches 18. I have had no problems whatsoever. By the way, the Opus 360 is an excellent mask. It is lightweight, the pillows sit up off the lip and you can hardly tell you are wearing it. I think you will be happy with it.

My bilevel pressure went to 19.61 IPAP a couple of weeks ago. Never knew it till I saw the report.
I use the Swift FX nasal pillows and they do well up against the higher pressures. So do the OPus 360, the Aloha, the Pilairo and the Swift LT. Try it if you want to try it. I have tried every one of them and they all will work just fine at those pressures.
Heck, they work fine at those pressures for people using straight cpap.

I also use the Swift FX nasal pillows and my BiPAP pressure is 20/16.

It's not my usual pressure, but I had successfully tried the Opus 360 at high pressure. You will need to tighten the mask or tape the nose piece to the nose to avoid leaks.
