Re: Losing weight-looking for CPAP weight loss buddies!!
I'm in, i'm around 220 and 6'1 but i want to get down to 175-180 since in addition to the apnea i have severely bad osteoarthritis of my right hip and due to my work situation and the fact that i'm taking care of my sister who just got released after a year and half in hospitals and rehab that i can't take a break for at least six months to undergo hip replacement surgery. I've been a vegan for decades and i highly recommend it as a way to lose weight.

Re: Losing weight-looking for CPAP weight loss buddies!!
Best I have felt in the last four or five years was when I lost a lot of weight in combo with my APAP gear. I lost a lot of weight, 25-30 lbs and wow my APAP became more effective! I swear. I am a total believer that weight loss helps sleep apnea. It might not get rid of OSA entirely, but it helps. Losing weight is hard though, I gained all my weight back, unfortunately. I need to get serious about losing weight again. I have even considered bariatric surgery.
I think that people who are CPAP compliant AND lose weight if they need to lose it will be successful patients and WILL get better and feel better. I know from personal experience.
Eric
