Help!!!Zzz-PAP Auto CPAP Machine with Therapy Software

Post by mild6 » Sun Sep 16, 2012 1:26 am

After spending so much time and effort on research to find a new unit to replace my PE 420 which died about a month ago, I finally made an extremely wrong decision to buy the Probasics Zzz-PAP Auto unit, which turned out to be a huge disappointment. The unit produces a noisy sound when exhaling, like someone blowing to an empty coke bottle, which prohibits me from a good night sleep. It was a big mistake that I didn't order with tryout insurance on CPAP.com. What should I do now? Is there any help I can get? All of my CPAP purchases are out of my own pocket, and I feel terrible spending USD 400 (including usd 50 to ship the unit from USA to Hong Kong) to buy a machine to just let it do nothing but gather dust. Your advice would be much appreciated!

A couple suggestions. Ask if this noise is normal. Perhaps it is not normal, and it can be replaced. You might need to contact the manufacturer and send them an audio file of the noise.

Another option is to see if you can sell it to somebody who isn't bothered by it. Then buy something else.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Reply from CPAP.com, not very helpful for me but may be helpful for those who are still trying to hunt for a quiet machines.

====================================================================
Greetings,

Any machine which is rated 30 dB and under is considered to be quiet.
That being said, this particular model is not one of the quietest
available and noise level is one of the complaints we hear regarding
these machines. The only way to know if the sound you are hearing is
a defect or a normal machine noise is for us to test the machine. If
you would like we can issue a return authorization to send the machine
back for evaluation.

Is anyone using this unit? How does the data collection work? I followed the menu to insert the miniSD and collect data, but everytime I insert that SD to my labtop, it asks me to format the disk. I've no clue how it works. Any advice?

I BOUGHT THE SAME ZZZ PAP
THE MACHINE IS PRETTY QUIET, BUT
WHEN YOU EXHALE, IT MAKES ALOTTTTTTTTTTTT OF NOISE WHERE THE EXTRA AIR IS NORMALLY RELEASED OUT OF MY NOSE PIECE
VERY ANNOYING

That would be the mask. Maybe if we knew what MASK you have, we could help.
Another thing, using all caps (upper case) is considered rude.
