Yes of course you are on the right track. Your eventual goal should be to get AHI consistently under 5. And you've got a great machine with the PR Auto to help you achieve that. Pay attention to all the advice you'll see from our resident experts on how to fine-tune your therapy.

How are you doing with the nasal pillows? Any irritation? If so, consider getting a really comfortable nasal mask, such as the ResMed SoftGel, to switch out when your nostrils get sore.

Welcome to the forum.

When you are evaluating your AHI you also need to evaluate the event category breakdown not just a single AHI number for optimal evaluation.

Are you getting your AHI number off the machine LCD screen or the software?

When I started CPAPing 2.5 years ago for plain OSA, my AHIs were around 20. It took me a year to find my optimal pressure, machine and mask types. During the last 6 months my AHIs are below 5 but I have residual sleepiness during the day time even if I sleep non stop for 7 hours or more. Check the report about AHI at my signature line. Check also this:

I didn't know I could get my AHI number off of the machine, and any kind of software has me challenged.

I like my swift FX although it's the only mask I have used.I might add that I have used machine faithfully since day one with no major complaints. One question on my machine screen it says sim card locked is this where it should be?

Where were you getting the AHI of 8.3 number that you mentioned in your first post?
If you didn't know you could get AHI numbers off the machine then where did you come up with that number?

The PR S1 machines offer only a 7/30 average AHI...a running average so to speak with no breakdown into even categories and there are 3 event categories that make up the AHI.
Clear airway hourly average
Obstructive apnea hourly average
Hyponea hourly average

AHI is the overall hourly average of the sum of the 3 categories.

You are showing the PR S1 model 550 in your profile....if that is what you have then you can use SleepyHead software to see the actual event categories along with some other details.
Please look in my signature line for the software options for PR S1 machine users.
SleepyHead will work with the model 550 but won't work with the model 560....when in doubt look on the bottom of the blower part of the machine for the model number.
If you have a 560 model then you have to use Encore software. Send me a private message if you want or need to try it.
For an example of what is shown in the Encore reports...http://www.healthcare.philips.com/pwc_h ... _Guide.pdf it's for a different machine but the basics are unchanged between models.

If you are so software challenged that you cannot master the software then you can ask your DME to print off the same copies of the reports so you can evaluate your therapy.

I don't get this message with my PR S1 machine. I don't know what it means.
The SD card has a slider thing to make it read only or write mode. If it is in read only mode then no data can be written to the SD card. It is not normal to have the SD card in the machine and have it in read only mode.
I don't know that this is what "locked" means in your case.
Or if what you are seeing is related to some other feature being "locked".

Pop the card out and look for the lock on the side of the card.
Move it to unlock and put it back into the machine.
All the old data will be written onto the card.

I'm sorry right now my machine has a modem on the back sending info to dme ,this is where I received my information. Once my wife wakes up I'll rattle the box around and check it out. Thank you for your time I'll grasp this eventually DW doesn't have the patients to teach me!!
