Ordered an Activa...
Ordered an Activa...
Hi all. I have been fighting with my Ultramirage FF mask (leaks and some massive aerophagia) and even revisited the deconstructed Aura (can't get it to stay put, no matter how many legs of panythose I strap around my head). I know I'll have to tape with it (as I did the Aura), but I am hoping it will let me sleep leak free in some position besides on my back. My numbers are ok with the Ultramirage, except for those huge gaps where it looks like I took my mask off (which I don't, it is just a major leak, like for an hour or two)... Anyhow, keep yer fingers crossed, I ordered from cpap.com and it's due to arrive on Friday.
Take care, and sleep well,

Activa
I just love my activa. I am using the breeze now - wanted a change - but go back to my activa because I know it won't leak and it suits me really well. I just had the opportunity to get another mask and got the breeze for a change.
Hope you like it and that it works well! Just remember, keep the lower straps LOOSE!

i have the ativa, it is the only mask i have since i have been on cpap less than a month.
i think it is just ok, since it is so large due to the bellows, it is hard to sleep on your side with it
i can't help but htink that a mask with a much smaller profile and size woudl be easier to sleep sideways with.

I have a pile of masks, but I alternate between the Activa and the Swift. The Activa is very quiet. I get the best results from the Activa (lowest AHI, lowest leaks) but I do get a bit of a sore upper gums if I use it too long.
Keeps the straps loose, and I find I can reduce the "itchy nose syndrome" by vigorously rubbing my nose before the mask goes on.

For those who are interested... have used it three nights now, and the Activa is fast becoming my new favorite mask. My leak rate is low, I can sleep on my side, and my AHI are low. The only down side is that I have to tape my mouth (mouthbreather/leaker). Overall, I am happy with it so far.
Sleep well,
Tash

I'm three nights with mine too and still getting used to the size - the outer portion it goes down to even with my lower lip. I'm nearly without leaks but wonder if there is a trick to minimizing the marks and irritation on the bridge of the nose from the Activa? I've done some searches here and it seems some folks use moleskin. The irritation is mainly on the side of my nose away from the pillow. Other than those minor items the its a big improvement on my Comfort Gel
