myoclonus increased with apneas /hypopneas

Post by mtn aire » Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:45 pm

i have spasticity which seems is worsened by apneas. it's like an alarm of 'fail safe' mechanism... i am awakened with the involuntary jerkings- sometimes the index finger, other times might be the foot or at worst 'jack-knife jerking of my midsection.
anyone else have this occurring??

I already responded to your other post, just want to add that if you have PLMD the movements are not related to your efforts to breath. There are respiratory related movements, but that's a different story. A sleep study differentiates them. Your description of your movements describes my movements at one point in time, including the jack-knifing midsection. Apt description - thanks for that. Sounds like PLMD to me.
