Cpap with Insurance Billing -- Does it exist?

Post by Checkmate » Tue Jul 24, 2012 8:31 pm

I had a deal with a site that did online sales and insurance billing, but they changed changed their business model because of a buy-out by a bigger company.

When I found them 5 or so years ago, there weren't many offering this service, is it still that way?

I'm willing to buy from CPAP.com, but after being on CPAP for about 6 years, I'm sort a newbie with the whole pay first and submit to insurance thing.

Anyone willing to give me some pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried either of these two companies?:

Homelink - http://www.vgmhomelink.com/Default.aspx

Carecentrix - http://carecentrix.com/

I have CIGNA, and both of these companies bill directly to CIGNA. They serve as in-network clearinghouses. Although they do the billing, they set you up with a local DME provider. For example, I am billed by Homelink, yet my local DME provider is ExtraKare. You can look on the website of each and give them a call to see if they will bill your insurer directly. Hope this helps.

I have Kaiser and they go through Apria Healthcare but when I had PPO coverage I had a local place and they did the billing to the insurance company and I only had to pay the copay it was great. Call some local places that sell cpap equipment.
