Mask leaking - QuattroFX small

Post by DontLetTheHatFoolYou » Thu Jul 12, 2012 2:23 am

Will try to keep this short.
I have 2 QuattroFX masks which are cleaned every night, small size.
I thought a small was a weird choice, I'm 37 or 38yo and would probably benefit from losing a pound or 20.
They fit perfectly for the first 2 weeks or so but now I struggle to get one night a week without pulling the thing off in frustration due to massive leaks into my eyes or under my bottom lip. No facial hair, try to keep myself clean shaven.
I have a fitment appointment on Friday, it's not a doctors appointment, just a fitment.
I've been happy with the mask up unit a month or so ago but this is driving me up the wall.
Still no relief on the CPAP but still sticking with it.

Any suggestions on which mask(s) to try? I'm a mouth breather and can't see myself using pillows.
Thanks as always.

HAve you tried using a liner with the mask to improve the fit? Many people have had success with that.

I love this mask, and I have managed to make it fit pretty well despite the fact that I could really use an extra small (which does not exist). I did just receive me ny new headgear as the standard medium headgear is too large for me. I can start off the night okay, but later, I need to tighten it and can't. The new small headgear is much better. I haven't slept with it on yet, but I tried it on earlier, and it feels snug, and I have plenty of room on the headgear to tighten it when I need to.

I also have the Mirage Liberty which is a hybrid type mask. I use it more as a backup as I haven't gotten past 3 hours with the pillows. I really prefer the quattro fx. But I do get frustrated sometimes and switch so that I can get back to sleep.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

If your leaks are caused by the cushion separating from the frame, this fix might help.
